Beaches for Families and Standup Paddling
Harbor Cove Beach: Also called Mother's Beach, this spot has small waves, sand dunes, and coastal views. It's ideal for kayaking, swimming, and kite flying, with designated swim-only and paddling zones.
Channel Island Beaches, Oxnard: Kiddie Beach (swim only) and Hobie Beach (for water toys) offer small waves and scenic views. Both beaches are safe for kayaking and swimming, though Kiddie Beach requires a paddle-through to launch. Note: Beaches may close September-December for sea lion nesting.
Oxnard and Ventura City Beaches offer open water standup paddling. Other local beaches include Mandalay State Beach, Oxnard State Beach and Park, and Silverstrand/Hollywood Beaches in Oxnard, California.
