Surfer's Knoll: Great for expert swimmers, this beach has big waves, a natural estuary, and free parking, dog friendly
Rincon Beach: Located north of Ventura Beach, this beach has good surf and camping, dog friendly
Mondo’s Beach: Beginner-friendly waves and long rides make this a good spot for new paddle surfers, windsurfing and other board watersports, dog friendly
Solimar Beach: Good for walking, boogie boarding and body surfing, dog friendly
“C” Street/Surfers Point: Known for consistently good foam, this beach is good for more advanced riders
Beaches for families and paddling , Swimming Protected Area
Harbor Cove Beach: Also known as Mother's Beach, this beach has gentle waters, sand dunes, and views of the coastline and hills. The harbor's break walls protect from big swells, making it a good place for kayaking, swimming and standup paddle boarding. The large “Swim Only Area” makes it uber safe for young kids. Has Handicap access (blue runner) on beach. Dog friendly
Channel Island Beaches: Also known as Kiddie/Hobie Beaches, this beach has gentle waters, swim only side (Kiddie ) and a watersports side (Hobie), bathrooms and lifeguards. The harbor's break wall protect from big swells, making it a good place for kayaking, swimming, kids water games and standup paddle boarding. The large “Swim Only Area” makes it uber safe for young kids. Dog Friendly. These beaches are often closed to the public for Sealion breeding and nesting from October through December. (The ever growing Sealion Population is up to 880 count per Harbor Patrol Sept 2023s count.) The beaches are fenced off for safety but it is quite a fun experience to watch them play. Definitely a tourist viewing destination more than a beach/swim destination.
In order to keep everyone safe: Kayaks, Foils, Surfers and Paddle Boarders can only launch/return from these “swim only beaches”. Co-Exist

City Beaches
Port Hueneme Beach and Park: Firepits, fishing pier, boardwalk to lighthouse, cafe on beach next to Pier, live music
City Beach Area 1: This stretch of beach runs from the Ventura Pier to Surfer's Point
City Beach Area 2: This stretch of beach runs from Marina Park to Camden Lane
Marina Park: This 15-acre beachfront park has picnic and barbecue areas, a sand volleyball court, and a children's play area
Other beaches in Ventura County include Mandalay State Beach, Oxnard State Beach and Park, Silverstrand / Hollywood Beaches (Hollywood Beach by CIH entrance is closed for wildlife re-habitat) and San Buenaventura State Beach.
